On the Trail
7-Day Itinerary
Five full hiking days. A detailed route and difficulty breakdown is provided before departure.
Day 1 – Arrival & transfer to Vusanje
Meet your guide and settle into the mountains beneath dramatic limestone peaks.
Day 2 – Cross Peja Pass into Albania
A classic high-mountain day with alpine meadows, border crossing, and a descent into the remote village of Theth.
Day 3 – Valbona Pass
One of the most iconic days of the trek, linking two legendary valleys via a panoramic high pass.
Day 4 – Valbona to Çerem
A gentler day through forests and open pastures, allowing time to recover and enjoy village life.
Day 5 – High pastures to Dobërdol
Walk through wide alpine landscapes to one of the most atmospheric overnight stops on the trail.
Day 6 – Return to Montenegro
A scenic final hike across open terrain before descending toward Babino Polje or Plav.
Day 7 – Departure
Transfer to the airport or onward travel.
FAQ
How fit do I need to be?
This trek is rated Hard. You should be comfortable hiking 6–8 hours per day with significant elevation gain, carrying a daypack. Previous multi-day hiking experience is recommended.
Is there a minimum group size?
We need a group of 3 hikers to run the trip. If you're a solo hiker or a couple, we can open the trip up and combine you with others to form a group.
What's not included?
Flights to/from Montenegro, travel insurance, personal hiking gear, drinks and snacks outside of meals.
How do I book and pay?
A 30% deposit secures your place, with the balance due 14 days before departure. If plans change, your booking can be transferred to another date, subject to availability. Full booking terms are provided before payment.
Do we carry our own luggage?
Typically we carry our own packs, though luggage transfer is available for an extra cost. Get in touch and we can tell you more.
